Can Your Pet Help You Live Longer? Can you help your pet live longer too?
Studies have shown that people with pets live longer, healthier lives and have lower blood pressure than the person without a pet.
Just coming home and stroking your pet will not only lower your blood pressure but in studies have also shown it to lower the dog's blood pressure.
A nice hello and a scratch behind the ears would do a world of good for your canine.
A little time rubbing his belly will not only lower your blood pressure but will also lower the blood pressure of your dog.
So when you come home at night and are greeted at the door, even though you hands are full of groceries and mail is falling all over the place, take a moment to let things drop and hug your dog and talk to him or them so they can gain the same benefit that you have when you pet your dog.
PS. Don't do what I did and leave the Brie cheese in a bag on the floor for too long. My little Westie girl got that cheese, went under the bed and ate practically the whole thing before I got wise.
She had cheese plastered all over her face and looked quite pleased with herself.
